How’s It Hangin’, Buffett (not Jimmy)?

Posted by ginnypub on March 10, 2009

Billionaire investor Warren Buffett put almost all his eggs in one basket for the past 2 years.

How has your investment paid off, Warren?

Oh, I see.

The man considered by many to be the greatest investor of all time just had his worst year ever.

Mr. Buffett, in his annual letter, read closely by shareholders and nonshareholders alike, reported Berkshire in 2008 lost 9.6% in book value per share, a common metric Berkshire uses to track performance. That marks the biggest decline since Mr. Buffett took over in 1965, when it was a family-run East Coast textile maker.

Mr. Buffett conceded he “did some dumb things.”

What about the future, Warren?

Unemployment rate in U.S. will go well above its current levels before the downturn ends.

Inflation has the “potential” to be worse than the 1970s.

How did this happen, Warren?

“In my view, it’s an economic war, and–I don’t think anybody on December 7th would have said a `war is a terrible thing to waste, and therefore we’re going to try and ram through a whole bunch of things and–but we expect to–expect the other party to unite behind us on the–on the big problem.’ It’s just a mistake, I think, when you’ve got one overriding objective, to try and muddle it up with a bunch of other things.”

This sounds dire, Warren. What are you doing to overcome “the dumb things” you did in 2008?

Oh, I see.

Pat keep ‘em coming, are you aware of how disjointed your posts are?
Why do you hang around this blog anyway? What do you hope to gain?
Since your guy won, you ought to be out and about celebrating !!!!!
Not hassling those with whom you obviously disagree, didn’t you know, that there a web sites for folks like you? Move on.org, the Huffington post, etc.
You are impressing no one here, it’s safe to say that when ever you loose an argument you are the one ( check your posts) CRY and use foul language, it’s also safe to say: that’s what Liberals do best

Don’t be so sensitive. Nobody’s called you a crazy whack-job or a no-nothing ass wipe yet today. LOL !

Making fun of retarded people isn’t cool. Velcro is for everyone.

Geez, lighten up. I didn’t even mentioned your relatives out in the coalfields.

Whoops, did I say that out loud?

    Nope – just a typin’ G’pee.

Therein lies another negative when you pretend to be something you’re not and attack others personally because they don’t share your views. Drawing first blood with a shrimp fork will get you a meat cleaver in return.

You see, anyone who’s known me for 5 minutes knows that I have relatives “out in the coalfields” that I love and respect. I also have relatives in Texas, Georgia, Ohio, Michigan, Germany, Czech Republic and Scotland. I love them all.
If there’s anything you ever want to know about me, just ask. I have no need to impress a couple of half-wits on a small-town forum or a tiny fringe group of intellectual conspiracy theorists who have never heard of me.

I am what I am; an everyday run of the mill person; an open book. I don’t hide behind a cloak of pseudo-intellectualism. That is the reason you cannot hurt me or “out” something about me, but I can hurt you.

I’ve enjoyed debating you for the past few years, but I would like you to drop the personal attacks. I will not moderate any comments you make, so I’ll leave it up to you as to which direction you’d like to take a conversation.

Seems is a movement afoot, apparently, to remove Steele as the RNC Chair. At least one high ranking RNC official has asked Steele to resign.

Déjà vu – - Jeff Frederick, the Republican Party of Virginia Chair, is under fire too. Republican presumptive nominee for Virginia Governor, Bob McDonnell, voiced his concern over Frederick’s leadership. Here’s the info:

“It is clear to me, after hearing from Republican leaders across the state, that as we move forward with our campaign, as well as the other statewide and House of Delegates races, it would be helpful for the Republican Party of Virginia to have more effective leadership in this pivotal year,” McDonnell said in an e-mail.

Uh- oh! When the current standard-bearer for the whole Republican Party in Virginia says that Frederick needs to go, things must be really bad. Of course, Frederick seems to be hell-bent on finishing his term.

So Steele and Frederick have become iconic laughing stocks, nationally and state-wide, respectively, to the Republican party. Are these guys worth keeping?

What have Steele and Frederick to do with Warren Buffett?
Just think if you could find some Liberal site to post all your drivel on, those folks would rally around you and think you were really smart, I do believe you are one of those Liberals, who never manage anything more complex than tieing their shoes

    From Jack Cafferty’s blog:

The Republican Party is becoming a cartoon.

On Bobby Jindal: “I’m certainly not nearly as good of a speaker as Obama.” Good OF a speaker? How about not as good at eighth-grade grammar either. It’s embarrassing.

Or Sarah Palin? Billing the taxpayers for her kids to travel to official events the children weren’t even invited to? She finally agreed to pay back the state for that money she took.
Her per diem charges to the state in the amount of $17,000 while she was living at home instead of in the governor’s mansion?

She has now agreed to pay the taxes owed on that money. Another tawdry grab at a few dollars that didn’t belong to her.
