Today’s commentary comes from Comrade Joe:
Why I’m A Liberal:
I’m a Liberal because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.
I’m a Liberal because I love the fact I can now marry whatever I want. I’ve decided to marry my horse.
I’m a Liberal because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.
I’m a Liberal because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
I’m a Liberal because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
I’m a Liberal because when we pull out of Iraq I trust the bad guys will stop what they’re doing because they now think we’re good people.
I’m a Liberal because I believe people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday, CAN tell us the polar ice caps will melt away in 10 years if I don’t start driving a Prius.
I’m a Liberal because I believe business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.
I’m a Liberal because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who could NEVER get their agendas past the voters.
I’m a Liberal because my head is so firmly planted up my own butt, it’s unlikely I’ll ever have another point of view.

A comment to one of my recent posts about the popularity of Barry Soetoro reminded me of another “emperor” in history. As a matter of fact, the origin of the term “first 100 days” used by the media and pundits to grade a president’s first days in office came from that other emperor.
1815…a distant land. The people are fed up with their ruler. He has become very unpopular. Then, out of nowhere, appeared a new hope; a change, if you will. He was very popular. Like the Pied Piper of German folklore who charmed the rats into following him, this newcomer amassed a legion of supporters in a relatively short period of time. He came to believe in his own grandiosity. He became a megalomaniacal narcissist, believing that his “popularity” would conquer enemies and dissenters, alike.
But alas, this conquering hero was, in the end, conquered himself; not by great armies, but by his own egocentrism and naiveté. You see, he was too busy bathing in lavish praise and drinking in his “popularity” to notice that his followers were choosing a new path and his dissenters were growing expeditiously.
This imperialist lived out the remainder of his life in exile. He had become very unpopular.
Even though one of the emperors was a Little Big Man
And the other one is a Big Little Man
Deep inside, they’re both the same.

When Barry Soetoro released classified CIA interrogation documents for the world to see what a rotten country the USA is and to give aid and comfort to Islamic serial mass murderers, a veteran CIA officer told David Ignatius that it “hit the agency like a car bomb in the driveway.”
Agency officers are “slow rolling”-what agency officers sometimes do on politically sensitive assignments. They go through the motions; they pass cables back and forth; they take other jobs out of the danger zone; they cover their backsides.
Now, field officers are more careful. They want guidance from headquarters. They need legal advice. In the case of an al-Qaeda suspect seized in Iraq several weeks ago, the CIA didn’t even try to interrogate him. The agency handed him over to the U.S. military.
I’m sure it was a shock to Barry Soetoro that Americans viewed this treasonous act as, well, treason.
I’m also sure it was annoying for Barry Soetoro to have to pack up his trusty sidekick and travel to Langley for a lame appeasement speech to the CIA when he has so many more important things to do; universal healthcare rationing, tonguing foreign murderous dictators, unilateral disarmament, slashing the Defense budget, nationalizing private businesses, overturning the Second Amendment, taxing children and their into the Poor House and redistributing payroll earnings. (Besides, it’s not like he published their names and photos, for Pete’s sake.)
But, give a speech, he did. He said everything his teleprompter told him to say and someone hit the old laugh track from “I Love Lucy” reruns at just the appropriate moments of wittiness.
And later that night, in the family quarters of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, Barry Soetoro slept like a baby. In caves and villages and in U.S. cities and towns, Islamic serial mass murderers slept like babies. And in countries far away, in caves and lean-tos; in U.S. cities, towns and suburbs, CIA officers were awake and watchful and guarding their families, our families and the family sound asleep at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Secretary of The Department of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, is interviewed on Larry King.
KING: Another — in that same report was this line here, on the threat of extremism at home. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.
The Democratic chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee has taken offense with that language. He says, well, wait a minute, are you singling people out just for their political views? Because we are having a conversation that is based on this gift of free speech. So if I’m an anarchist, if I oppose abortion — there are many things that I could believe or anyone out there could believe that you would find horrible. I’m allowed to think it, I’m allowed to say it, as long as I do anything wrong…
KING: Who are these groups? Do you have active investigations of anti-immigration groups or anti-abortion groups, you believe that they are preparing to conduct terrorist attacks?
NAPOLITANO: Well, without going into ongoing work, let’s just point out to history. And we’ll take the abortion, for example. Of course, people have different points of view about abortion. The last thing the Department of Homeland Security is about is infringing on anybody’s constitutionally protected rights. On the other hand, at the very edge of the debate, at the very edge are the extremist groups that have committed violent crimes. They’ve committed bombings and the like.
And that is where you cross from constitutionally protected free speech, freedom of assembly, all the rights we cherish, into homeland security and law enforcement. When is that right not being exercised, it’s being abused…
KING: The administration has said it would like to move ahead on comprehensive immigration reform. That it would include some legal status for the millions who are in the United States illegally.
We went down to your state recently to explore this issue. And a man you’re very familiar with, the Maricopa County sheriff, Joe Arpaio, we asked him, because of all the controversy about him rounding up illegal immigrants and some people aren’t illegal immigrants, we asked him if he had a message for you and for the president of the United States.
And this is what he said.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SHERIFF JOE ARPAIO, MARICOPA COUNTRY, ARIZONA: I want the president, I want the politicians to say, we are going to enforce all of the illegal immigration laws and if you come into this country illegally, you’re going to be prosecuted and put in jail.
Let them say that. I’m waiting for them to say that.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
KING: A lot of Democrats in Congress want to you investigate him. They think he is over the line. He says he is just enforcing the law and the problem is the federal government.
NAPOLITANO: Well, you know, Sheriff Joe, he is being very political in that statement, because he knows that there aren’t enough law enforcement officers, courtrooms or jail cells in the world to do what he is saying.
What we have to do is target the real evil-doers in this business, the employers who consistently hire illegal labor, the human traffickers who are exploiting human misery.
And yes, when we find illegal workers, yes, appropriate action, some of which is criminal, most of that is civil, because crossing the border is not a crime per se. It is civil. But anyway, going after those as well.
NOTE TO JANET NAPOLITANO:
The Constitution of the United States of America is NOT a group of “suggestions” lumped together into a document.

I’m sure everyone’s seen CNN’s Susan Roesgen having a little hissy fit at the Chicago Tea Party.
The crowd turned on her when she was rude and condescending to an attendee. “I think you get the general tenor of this,” she said. “It’s anti-government, anti-CNN since this is highly promoted by the right-wing conservative network Fox.”
Of course, if the Chicago Tea Party attendees had been dressed in pink costumes, burning the American flag and hadn’t bathed in God knows when, Mz. Roesgen would have knocked them down en masse and licked their faces like a new puppy tasting its mother’s milk for the first time.
In the (snark, snark) Too-Good-Not-To-Be-True Category, it seems that Mz. Roesgen applied for employment TWICE in 2005 at the “right wing conservative network Fox”.

At last something for the bottom feeders of society-those that leach off tax payers and charitable good will-who never learned how to string a grammatically correct sentence together-who think using the word ‘fuck’ as a noun, adjective and verb is socially acceptable in polite society-that never take the time to get much of an education because they’re too busy breeding:
Here’s hoping the Soetoro Universal Health Care Rationing covers the cost!

I guess it all depends on what the meaning of “is”, is.
As President Barack Obama works to sell the American people on a sweeping agenda of domestic spending and policy changes, he’s relying on three men who have gone through neither Senate confirmation nor cable news spin cycles.
Data from pollsters Joel Benenson and Paul Harstad has become increasingly important to shaping the White House’s message as the crucial battle over the president’s budget intensifies.
Elements of Obama’s approach bear the hallmarks of message testing, like the introduction of the words “recovery” and “reinvestment” to rebrand the “stimulus” package, and aides said the polling has focused almost entirely on selling policy, not on measuring the president’s personal appeal.
A source familiar with the data said a central insight of more recent polling had been that Americans see no distinction between the budget and the popular spending measures that preceded it, and that the key to selling the budget has been to portray it as part of the “recovery” measures.
Uh oh! It looks like Americans are understanding the “distinction” between “I$” and “is“.

For 8 years, if Pres. Bush sneezed there was a chorus of, “What kind of message are we sending to the world?” “This administration has damaged the image of the U.S. around the world!”
Candidate for president Barry Soetoro promised to “reboot America’s image” among the world’s Muslims and that one of his top priorities would be to work to repair America’s reputation worldwide. In that vain, he granted his first interviewas leader of the free world to al-Arabiya where he apologized profusely for the U.S. being responsible for Islamic serial mass murderers incinerating a few thousand Infidels on U.S. soil.
It was especially poignant when a sitting president of the United States of America met Saudi Arabia’s King and bowed in deference to his “majesty“.
After the U.S. elected its first black president, the first black U.S. Attorney General and former Fannie Mae lobbyist, Eric Holder, said publicly, “Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial, we have always been and we — I believe continue to be in too many ways essentially a nation of cowards.”
Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva heard you Mr. Holder. Speaking in Brasília at a joint press conference with Gordon Brown, the UK prime minister, Mr Lula da Silva told reporters: “This crisis was caused by the irrational behaviour of white people with blue eyes, who before the crisis appeared to know everything and now demonstrate that they know nothing.” This, of course, was music to Race Separatist in Chief, Barry Obama, who couldn’t wait to drool all over him. During a lunch at the Group of 20 summit in London, Obama shook hands with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and said: “This is my man, right here. I love this guy.” I can hardly wait for Barry’s next book.
Then, there’s our neighbor to the south, Mexico, where a bloody drug war is happening and spilling across the border into the U.S., which wouldn’t have started in the first place if the drug lords didn’t receive 90% of their firearms from the U.S. It isn’t relevant that this figure is a bold-faced LIE made up of whole cloth from the Soetoro administration. What is relevant is that the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is merely a “suggestion” and should be overturned.
The icing on the cake is probably yet to come, but Barry’s speech to a group of students from France and Germany comes close. “In America, there is a failure to appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world. “Instead of celebrating your dynamic union and seeking to partner with you to meet common challenges, there have been times where America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive.”
Now, that’s a statement from someone who is a world’s authority on arrogance, dismissiveness and derision.
So what is the message Pres. Barry Soetoro is sending to the world?
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS A LOUSY COUNTRY, FULL OF LOUSY PEOPLE.

From On High had an excellent take on this story-kind of a Clintonesque what “is” is.
WASHINGTON (AP) – One of President Barack Obama’s campaign pledges on taxes went up in puffs of smoke Wednesday.
The largest increase in tobacco taxes took effect despite Obama’s promise not to raise taxes of any kind on families earning under $250,000 or individuals under $200,000.
“I can make a firm pledge,” he said in Dover, N.H., on Sept. 12. “Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”
He repeatedly vowed “you will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime.”
Now in office, Obama, who stopped smoking but has admitted he slips now and then, signed a law raising the tobacco tax nearly 62 cents on a pack of cigarettes, to $1.01. Other tobacco products saw similarly steep increases.
The extra money will be used to finance a major expansion of health insurance for children.
His detailed campaign plan stated that his proposed improvement in health insurance and health technology “is more than covered” by raising taxes on the wealthy alone. It was not based on raising the tobacco tax.
Not one dime more than this:
Another source of revenue comes from auctioning rights to carbon emissions, raising $646 billion over 10 years. This is a regressive tax, meaning that it falls hardest on those at the lower end of the income scale. Despite Obama’s promise that those earning under $250,000 won’t pay another dime in taxes, carbon-intensive companies are going to pass along the extra tax to consumers.
If Barry and the rest of the stagflation supporters want to tax something to raise cash for children’s health care, how about a big, fat increase on PORN and LABOR INDUCED PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTION?!
No way! Not in this lifetime! Let’s not get crazy, here. Children don’t need taxpayer-funded health care that bad! This is still America, after all!

Free to good home. Excellent guard dog.
Owner cannot afford to feed him anymore, as there are no more drug dealers, thieves, murderers, or child molesters left in the neighborhood for him to eat.
He’s known as ‘Holy Shit.’
