Ole Juan Cole The Lying Ole Troll

Posted by ginnypub on March 6, 2009

Juan Cole is a professor of Middle East and South Asian history at the University of Michigan. He’s also a blogger. Prof. Cole is a very important person. If you don’t believe me, just ask him.

Not everyone, however, is as enamored with Prof. Cole as he is with himself. Christopher Hitchens describes him as “a minor nuisance on the fringes of the academic Muslim apologist community. At one point, there was a danger that he would become a go-to person for quotes in New York Times articles (a sort of Shiite fellow-traveling version of Norman Ornstein, if such an alarming phenomenon can be imagined), but this crisis appears to have passed….who affects such expertise in Persian, cannot decipher the plain meaning of a celebrated statement and is, furthermore, in need of a remedial course in English”.

Yale University shared the same opinion, when in 2006, it denied him a faculty position, based on an assessment of Cole’s scholarly work. Very Important Person Cole blamed his rejection at an Ivy League university on “a concerted press campaign by neoconservatives…(which) was inappropriate and a threat to academic integrity”.

The main problem, among many, with Prof. Cole is that he lies. He gets called out for it. He retro-edits his lies and denounces the denouncer.  He’s like a kid with a sore tooth who can’t keep his tongue away from it.

Some “for instances”:

juancolecoffinlie

This policy was implemented in 1991 under Secretary of Defense, Richard Cheney and Pres. George H. W. Bush.

I have learned from Martin Kramer to capture a screenshot of Prof. Cole’s writings if I want to reference them in the future because of his retro-editing and deleting penchants.

In Jan 2009, Cole posted this:

coleliefromkramer

In response, Martin Kramer posted this: Actually, Atta’s will was dated April 11, 1996—one week before the Qana tragedy, on April 18. We don’t know for certain why he made it, but it cannot be because he witnessed any footage from Qana, which was still in the future. And Cole apparently never read the will. It contains no pledge to die while avenging anyone. The will deals with disposition of Atta’s body and possessions in the event of his death. It’s not a “martyrdom will,” but a standardized one, provided by Atta’s Hamburg mosque. (You can read the full text here.)
Update: In the wake of this post, Cole has partly retro-edited his own post (without indicating so).

Today IraqPundit blogged about Prof. Cole’s latest lying-fest.

Wonder how long it will be before he retro-edits?

I’ve got the screen caps, in case you need them, IraqPundit.

YEAH, BIBI!! (Updated)

Posted by ginnypub on February 20, 2009

**Bumped up for update** (Below the snip)

The Likud Party is BAAACK and strong! Tuesday’s primaries in Israel bring in Moshe Feiglin, Benny Begin, and Moshe Ayalon, among others. Of course the watered-down to milquetoast, Kadima Party is having a hissy fit. Prime Minister Ehud (maybe if we give islamo-fascists the rest of Israel’s land, they’ll stop killing our children) Olmert said,  “If Bibi, Begin, Ya’alon and Feiglin come to power, it will cause significant diplomatic damage to Israel.” Uh-huh, that’s the POINT, Ehud, or as I like to call you, the head of the John McCain wing of the Kadima/Likuds. You keep giving terrorists land and getting dead Israeli children in return. It’s WAY past time for “significant diplomatic damage”!

(snip)

UPDATE:

From the Jerusalum Post:

After the failure of his last-ditch effort to muster Kadima leader Tzipi Livni’s support for a unity government on Friday, President Shimon Peres formally entrusted Likud chairman Binyamin Netanyahu with the task of building a coalition.

Earlier, after emerging from a meeting with Peres, Livni announced that she had no intention of joining a broad coalition under Netanyahu, despite the Likud chairman’s assertion that he was willing to “go to great lengths” in order to induce Kadima to join his government.

“It appears that the coalition which has been formed in recent days lacks diplomatic vision,” Livni said after the meeting. The Kadima leader rejected the president’s plea that she reconsider joining a coalition comprised of the three largest parties – Kadima, Likud and Israeli Beiteinu – and asserted that a “broad coalition is worthless if it is not governed by values.”

Peres realizes the need for strength at this time in history. Since Barry Soetoro and his Brown Shirts have decided to “stand with” the enemies of Israel and the U.S., the “the political winds” have shifted “in an ugly direction“.

Shabtai Shavit, former chief of the Mossad intelligence agency, warned just 2 days ago: “I don’t believe there is a political solution which can be achieved through negotiations with Iran. My concern is that until Obama finishes his learning curve of the subject, the Iranians are going to have maybe the first or even more nuclear bombs.”

NYT, one day ago:

In their first appraisal of Iran’s nuclear program since President Obama took office, atomic inspectors have found that Iran recently understated by a third how much uranium it has enriched, United Nations officials said Thursday.

The officials also declared for the first time that the amount of uranium that Tehran had now amassed — more than a ton — was sufficient, with added purification, to make an atom bomb.

YEAH, BIBI!! NOT A MOMENT TOO SOON!

Another shovel-ready success!

CAIRO (AP)Hamas negotiators left Egypt without a long-term cease-fire with Israel on Thursday — but not before some members of the militant group’s delegation were stopped at the Gaza border carrying millions in cash.

The delegation walked away from the cease-fire talks because of disagreements over the blockage on Gaza and border security. Talks will continue at a later date.

An Egyptian security official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media, said the group initially refused to be searched by Egyptian authorities at the Rafah border crossing. When the group relented, authorities found $7 million and 2 million euros ($2.5 million) in cash in their suitcases. Another security official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said $9 million and 2 million euros were found. The discrepancy could not be immediately explained.

The incident is a sensitive one for Egypt, particularly now, when Israel is demanding a halt to Hamas smuggling into Gaza as part of truce negotiations.

Israel and Hamas do not talk directly, so Egypt has been mediating the talks on solidifying the shaky cease-fire that went into effect on Jan. 18, ending Israel’s three-week offensive on Gaza.

Egypt had set Thursday as an expected date for reaching a long-term truce deal.

In 2006, a senior Hamas official bragged about successfully carrying $42 million across the border.

Arab banks have generally refused to transfer money to Gaza for fear of running afoul of the United States, which considers Hamas a terrorist organization. The money has helped keep afloat the Hamas government, which is generally shunned by foreign governments.

Barry Ends War!

Posted by ginnypub on January 23, 2009

Hooray! The new progressive President of the United States of America, Barry Soetoro has ended that little annoying War on Terror.

Dana Priest announced this news today in the Washington Post. For those of you not familiar with Dana Priest, here’s some background.
She’s the won who originally put the words “war on terror” in quotes. She’s the one who won a Pulitzer Prize for exposing detention facilities on the soil of America’s allies which house innocent suicide bombing freedom fighters, arrested by the CIA of the Imperialist, terrorist United States of America. Possibly causing the torture, decapitation or murder of countless Americans and American allies by exposing classified intelligence information to the innocent jihadis is of no consequence to Mzzzz Priest because these supporters of the Bush doctrine of murdering imperialism are expendable.
Her husband is Bill Goodfellow of The Center for International Policy. For those of you not familiar with the CIP, it was founded by a group of old hippies who spit on Vietnam vets, Commies and Black Panthers. Today it’s a group of old and new Commies, tree-hugging radicals and terrorism apologists that push toward a one-world Communist government.

President Obama yesterday eliminated the most controversial tools employed by his predecessor against terrorism suspects. With the stroke of his pen, he effectively declared an end to the “war on terror,” as President George W. Bush had defined it, signaling to the world that the reach of the U.S. government in battling its enemies will not be limitless.
Key components of the secret structure developed under Bush are being swept away: The military’s Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, facility, where the rights of habeas corpus and due process had been denied detainees, will close, and the CIA is now prohibited from maintaining its own overseas prisons. And in a broad swipe at the Bush administration’s lawyers, Obama nullified every legal order and opinion on interrogations issued by any lawyer in the executive branch after Sept. 11, 2001.

It was a swift and sudden end to an era that was slowly drawing to a close anyway, as public sentiment grew against perceived abuses of government power. The feisty debate over the tactics employed against al-Qaeda began more than six years ago as whispers among confidants with access to the nation’s most tightly held secrets. At the time, there was consensus in Congress and among the public that the United States would be attacked again and that government should do what was necessary to thwart the threat.Over the next 2 1/2 years, as Democrats gained power in Congress, as the violence in Iraq sapped public support for the president and as the fear of another terrorist attack receded, the debate over secret prisons, renditions and harsh interrogations grew louder. Presidential candidates felt comfortable to include these sensitive subjects in the debate on the efficiency of Bush’s war against terrorists, and even on the notion that it was still a war.

During his campaign and again in his inaugural address Tuesday, Obama used a different lexicon to describe operations to defeat terrorists. “As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals,” he said. “. . . And for those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents, we say to you now that our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you.”

Who won “Bush’s war on terror”, Mz. Priest?

More importantly, who will win Barry’s “operations to defeat terrorists”; fought with a “stronger spirit” rather than a bunker-busting bomb?

We shall see.

I’ll Miss Alan Colmes

Posted by ginnypub on January 8, 2009

Alan Colmes is leaving FNC this month.

I always liked seeing and listening to Hannity AND Colmes. Alan Colmes was the perfect example of why the biggest threat to U.S. sovereignty doesn’t come from international terrorism. It comes from within. Here’s a good example. Alan is arguing in support of terrorism to a former Israeli Special Forces Warrior/Hero:

I’ll miss everything about Alan; from his Marlena Dietrich eyebrows

Sing-A-Long for Shahid الشهيد الشيخ نزار ريان

Posted by ginnypub on January 2, 2009

When I wake up yeah I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the man who wakes up next to you
When I go out yeah I know I’m gonna be
I’m gonna be the man who goes along with you

But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked 1000 miles
To fall down at your door

All together, now:

The Beauty of Islam

Posted by ginnypub on December 31, 2008

One of the ass-wipes in this video says that people need to have an understanding of the beauty of Islam.

The cow wearing the scarf screeching about needing big ovens for the Jews is such a thing of beauty, it brought a tear to my eye.

Speaking of beauty. Now THIS is BEAUTIFUL:

Cynthia McKinney Loses Her Dignity

Posted by ginnypub on December 31, 2008

Former Georgia Congresscritter Cynthia (“Cellphone”) McKinney joined a group of other HAMAS supporters, including CNN reporter and HAMAS spokesman, Karl Pennhaul aboard the yacht “Dignity”. Their mission: Delivering “medical and humanitarian aid” to those who blow up Israeli school buses loaded with children, otherwise known as Palestinians. Alas, the mission had to be aborted, though, when an Israeli patrol boat captain took exception to the “Dignity” not responding to radio calls.

al-Jazeera reports:

When a Georgia reporter asked Mzzz. McKinney if she had been drinking white lightin’ because her eyes bugged out and her face turned red, she reportedly slapped him up side the head with her keffiyeh, called him a racist and stormed off.

Sign Up for Martyrdom HERE

Posted by ginnypub on December 31, 2008

Talk about an excellent idea! This is an exceptional way to end an otherwise crappy year on an upswing. 20,000 Iranian “martyrs” and an Israeli Military more than happy to oblige them.

TEHRAN (FNA)- A number of almost 20,000 people in different Iranian cities on Monday started enrolling their names in the list of volunteers to fight against Israel while thousands more are joining the campaign today.

The registration came a day after Iran’s Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a religious decree saying whoever dies in fight with Israel and in defense of Gaza would be a martyr.

Notice to all foreign and domestic Jew-haters and terrorism apologists (or as I like to call them, democrats):

Here’s the link to sign up for martyrdom. Call all your like-minded friends, family members, colleagues and government representatives to sign up! Remember: THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS TOO MANY MARTYRS.
