Punch Drunk Love

Posted by ginnypub on March 24, 2009

I never could understand how feeling paranoid and hungry felt “good”. Those are some of the main reasons I wasn’t a pot (whoops, sorry, Jenny, “Mom, it’s called weed now”) smoker.

Another reason was the inability to control hysterical laughter at inappropriate times. An orphanage just burned to the ground and 150 children were burned alive. Whaaat? Whoo ha ha ha, snort, hee hee ha ha. That’s terribl…whahahahaha.

Finally, I’ve always thought that a big, stupid, uncontrollable Mr. Ed-sized smile makes one look like a blithering idiot.

September 10, 2001

On November 20, 2008, 52.9% of the American electorate voted like it was September 10, 2001.

Here’s a reminder of why that was a mistake.

Baucus Balking

Posted by ginnypub on March 5, 2009

Jake Tapper and crew interviewed  Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., chair of the Senate Finance Committee, for the ABC News Shuffle Podcast.

Baucus said he was “concerned” about President Obama’s proposal to help pay for health care reform by reducing the amount in itemized deductions (mortgage interest, charitable donations, etc.) that those earning more than $250,000 a year can claim on their taxes.

“It’s an issue,” Baucus said, “but there are lots of different ways to solve this one, there’s always a solution…you just have to look hard enough and carefully enough and creatively enough to find a solution and if not that tax provision, there may be some other.”

To borrow from Shawn Hannity‘s “liberal translation treatment”, that’s what Baucus said, but here’s what he meant:

Cut itemized deductions on the rich, my ass. Look you little community organizing idiot…. NOW you’re in MY pockets.

What’s that? I think I hear Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee Charlie Rangel, former HHS Secretary nominee Tom Daschle, former OMB nominee Nancy Killefer, Secretary of labor Hilda Solis and Trade Representative designate Ron Kirk laughing: Baucus pays taxes! Hee hee hee… stop it…haw haw…before you make me…snort snort… pee my pants…

Approval Down, Disapproval Up

Posted by ginnypub on February 23, 2009

Of course, it’s the fault of the “chattering class” on “cable television”. Barry Soetoro, again today, blamed “cable television” for people not supporting his Massive New Government Spending Bill dressed up as “economic stimulus”.

Now we know the reason for Barry’s overall approval being down and overall disapproval being up. Americans are too stupid to think for themselves.

Hey, Barry. Here’s a news flash. If it walks like a duck…..

Not Hard To Outclass Matt Lauer

Hey Matt, if you’re going to interview a historian, it might help to know a little history instead of just regurgitating talking points.

Take This Card…Take My House

Posted by ginnypub on February 11, 2009

Yesterday’s stop was in Florida in the  American Tour of the  Barry Soetoro’s Squirrel Revival of the First Self-Righteous Church.

By some miracle, a 61-yr-old homeless cancer patient (living in a pickup truck for a year) named Henrietta Hughes was able to obtain an advance ticket,  procure a front-row seat  and (this is REALLY a miracle) was called upon by Brother Barry himself!

A staffer later gave her a card to the head of the housing authority and she was told he would help her.

“That was my desire,” the 61-year-old woman said as she cried. “I said I just pray to the Lord.”

I haven’t heard yet if Henrietta has decided to keep the card to the Housing Authority that already has her on a 2-yr waiting list or the 3-bedroom house. I also haven’t heard yet if Henrietta has learned the difference between Fake Messiah Bullshit and Christian Conservative True Grit.

Hey Barry, is this one of those “shovel ready” programs in the “stimulus plan” that will create “3 million new jobs”?

Another shovel-ready success!

CAIRO (AP)Hamas negotiators left Egypt without a long-term cease-fire with Israel on Thursday — but not before some members of the militant group’s delegation were stopped at the Gaza border carrying millions in cash.

The delegation walked away from the cease-fire talks because of disagreements over the blockage on Gaza and border security. Talks will continue at a later date.

An Egyptian security official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media, said the group initially refused to be searched by Egyptian authorities at the Rafah border crossing. When the group relented, authorities found $7 million and 2 million euros ($2.5 million) in cash in their suitcases. Another security official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, said $9 million and 2 million euros were found. The discrepancy could not be immediately explained.

The incident is a sensitive one for Egypt, particularly now, when Israel is demanding a halt to Hamas smuggling into Gaza as part of truce negotiations.

Israel and Hamas do not talk directly, so Egypt has been mediating the talks on solidifying the shaky cease-fire that went into effect on Jan. 18, ending Israel’s three-week offensive on Gaza.

Egypt had set Thursday as an expected date for reaching a long-term truce deal.

In 2006, a senior Hamas official bragged about successfully carrying $42 million across the border.

Arab banks have generally refused to transfer money to Gaza for fear of running afoul of the United States, which considers Hamas a terrorist organization. The money has helped keep afloat the Hamas government, which is generally shunned by foreign governments.

I’m Sorry, Kenneth Clodfelter

Posted by ginnypub on February 6, 2009

Sixteen days into his administration, Barry Soetoro has wiped out eight years of bringing Islamic serial mass murderers to justice. For anyone still doubting the lack of respect Soetoro holds for our warriors serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, this last act should erase all doubt.

WASHINGTON – The Pentagon’s senior judge overseeing terror trials at Guantanamo Bay dropped charges Thursday against an al-Qaida suspect in the 2000 USS Cole bombing, upholding President Barack Obama’s order to freeze military tribunals there.

The charges against suspected al-Qaida bomber Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri marked the last active Guantanamo war crimes case.

The legal move by Susan J. Crawford, the top legal authority for military trials at Guantanamo, brings all cases into compliance with Obama’s Jan. 22 executive order to halt terrorist court proceedings at the U.S. Navy base in Cuba.

Seventeen U.S. sailors died on Oct. 12, 2000, when al-Qaida suicide bombers steered an explosives-laden boat into the Cole, a guided-missile destroyer, as it sat in a Yemen port.

The Pentagon last summer charged al-Nashiri, a Saudi Arabian, with “organizing and directing” the bombing and planned to seek the death penalty in the case.

In his Jan. 22 order, Obama promised to shut down the Guantanamo prison within a year. The order also froze all Guantanamo detainee legal cases pending a three-month review as the Obama administration decides where — or whether — to prosecute the suspects who have been held there for years, most without charges.

John and Gloria Clodfelter, like Del. Frank Hargrove, I will remember Petty Officer 2nd Class Kenneth Eugene Clodfelter.

David Ogden-Child Rape Advocate

Posted by ginnypub on February 5, 2009

In Barry Soetoro’s world, the U.S. Constitution is a “deeply flawed”, living and breathing document. NARAL isn’t pro-abortion enough. A “fetus” accidently born alive after a labor-induced partial birth abortion procedure should be tossed into a trash receptacle until “it” dies.

It is not surprising that the Senate Judiciary is holding hearings today on the confirmation of Barry Soetoro’s pick for Assistant U.S. Attorney General, David W. Ogden. Ogden lives in Barry’s world. The U.S. Supreme Court should follow international law. The rape of an infant or child by an adult is a Constitutional Right. Viewing, purchasing and downloading videos of children being raped by an adult is a Constitutional Right.

Barry’s cerebus protectors in the media are publishing headlines about David Ogden defending Playboy Magazine. This will be the framed argument for the left to use when it is smearing traditionalists opposing this nomination.

It chills me to the bone that David W. Ogden’s ideology so mirrors that of one of his former ACLU colleagues, Charles Rust-Tierney.

Charles Rust-Tierney is serving 7 years in a federal facility for viewing, purchasing and downloading, on the computer in his 10-year-old son’s bedroom, videos of screaming infants and toddlers tied up, tortured and violently raped by adults.

Judge T.S. Ellis: “No description I could give could possibly convey what is on these discs.”

(Of note: No photos of Rust-Tierney anywhere on Internet (scrubbed?). Rust-Tierney is NOT on the National Sex Offender Public Registry. Why not?)

Barry’s Warming Up to New Digs

Posted by ginnypub on January 30, 2009

Washington (PTI): US President Barack Obama has proposed a “truly global coalition”, including Asian giants India and China, to combat climate change and ensure collective energy security of the world.

Speaking by video to a climate conference in Los Angeles, Mr. Obama repeated his campaign vow to reduce climate-altering carbon dioxide emissions by 80 percent by 2050, and invest $150 billion in new energy-saving technologies.

Now is the time to confront this challenge once and for all,” Mr. Obama said. “Delay is no longer an option. Denial is no longer an acceptable response.”

“I will make a commitment that Al Gore will be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this problem. He’s somebody I talk to on a regular basis. I’m already consulting with him in terms of these issues, but climate change is real. It is something we have to deal with now, not 10 years from now, not 20 years from now.”

“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said. “That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.

WASHINGTON — The capital flew into a bit of a tizzy when, on his first full day in the White House, President Obama was photographed in the Oval Office without his suit jacket. There was, however, a logical explanation: Mr. Obama, who hates the cold, had cranked up the thermostat.

“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.” (Of course, he hasn’t lived in Hawaii for 30 years. I guess the past 24 Chicago winters didn’t “take”.)

I’ve grown accustomed to the audacity of hypocrisy on the left that preach from the gospel of Global Warming Junk Science Theology. I don’t care about it anymore. What I do care about is that the Oval Office in the White House is once again, being treated with disrespect.

Following the precedent of the last Demi-god to occupy that office, Bill Clinton, Barry Soetoro is setting up a fraternity clubhouse best-place-to-bring-a-date atmosphere in the Oval Office. Maybe he’ll enjoy his own Sig-ar.

Note to Barry: The White House is not your house. It’s the people’s house. It’s on good-faith loan to you for the next four years. That loan can be rescinded.
